Many including myself are currently being inconvenienced by a number of road works around Newton Abbot. Whilst all are necessary works, it is being informed which is the key, enabling us to allow extra time or find another route.

The works on Exeter Road near the Vauxhall Garage, are to install a new gas main. They are programmed to continue no later than 23rd November.

Works along Ashburton Road are related to the provision of the shared use cycle/pedestrian route along the road. Works are anticipated, all being well to finish, in Spring 2019. Various one way systems will operate intermittently on side roads as works progress. The full details can be viewed at Roadworks.org .

In addition Barton Drive from its junction with Chercombe Valley Road, to its junction with Manor Road will be closed for one day on November 21st for patching works. Manor Road will still be open, and the official diversion will be via Woodleigh Rd and Ogwell Mill Rd.

Quay Road under the railway will be closed from Dec 10th until Dec 21st at the latest, so that broken lights under the railway can be replaced. The diversion is via Brunel Rd, Torquay Road and Station Road.
