Bradley NA6 Planning Application and site visit

by Jackie Hook on 28 November, 2018

Planners continue to consider the detail of the planning application at NA6, a site allocated in the Local Plan for 70 homes.  The application by Persimmons is actually for 100 houses!! You can view the application at https://www.teignbridge.gov.uk/planning/forms/planning-application-details/?Type=Application&Refval=18/00012/MAJ  The application number is 18/00012/MAJ

A site visit for Cllrs (Planning Committee members) to see the site has been arranged, but in spite of many local residents asking for the site visit to take place at either school drop off or pick up time, the site visit is arranged for 9.45am. Both myself and Bradley Town Cllr Richard Jenks have asked that the site visit be rearranged to take place at school drop off or pick up time. It is crucial that those making a decision on this application see the surrounding roads at this busy time, since one of the main highway access points is immediately opposite the school.

  1. Dr D J Ewins says:

To arrange a site visit at a time which excludes any of the school run traffic could be considered to be ill-advised at best, and negligent at worst.

Dr Ewins, I agree, I did ask that a site visit be undertaken at school drop off time, but they decided not to do so. As you say the whole area at school drop off or pick up time is very different, and it would have ben helpful for Cllrs from outside Newton Abbot to have seen that.
