We had a great time yesterday litter picking and tidying up paths in the Baker’s Park area. The weather was challenging, but didn’t stop us getting on with the job and achieving a noticeable improvement in Baker’s Park, along the River Lemon, Bradley Lane and the path linking up to Barton Drive and Manor Road. Thanks to Cynthia, Hilary, Peter W., Lorna, Peter B, Betina and Cllr Rob Hayes. Also many thanks to Kieran from the Town Council who bought our equipment along for us to use, and did a great job, helped by myself and Rob Hayes, on the path linking the leat across the bridge to Baker’s Park. Who would have thought litter picking and clearing weeds and debris from paths could be so much fun, but all agreed that it was, and were keen to come along to our next session. If you would like to nominate your area for our next tidy up/litter pick then please get in touch, and ideally come along with some of your neighbours to help out. We are looking for a snappy name for our group by the way, so get in touch if you have any ideas.
